What has changed
- Extended until October (originally May, subsequently extended until June)
- Furloughed workers will continue to receive 80% of their current salary, up to £2,500
- New flexibility introduced from August to allow workers to get back to work and boost the economy.
- Employers will be required to contribute to the 80% (or £2,500) but it is not yet clear how much.
- More details will be available by the end of May.
